The leaves are rough and palmate shaped. The root is thick, sending off long tapering branches. The inside of the root is a deep yellow colour. The leaves are somewhat toxic and therefore the stalk and root are commonly used. The history of Turkey Rhubarb dates back as far as 3200 BC. It has been said to be the ancient Sanskrit remedy called Soma,
