Distinguished Service Cross GVI Civilian Service used between 1916 and 1930The Distinguished Service Cross or DSC originally known as the Conspicuous Service Cross (renamed in 1914) and was awarded across all ranks of the Royal Navy. Army and RAF Officers serving aboard navel vessels were included from 1940. Officers of the Merchant Navy were also included from 1931.
